The RK Group, a full service catering and events company headquartered in San Antonio, is seeking a highly qualified marketing intern for the summer. The ideal candidate is eager to learn marketing practices in the hospitality and event industry. The Fund for the Public Interest is a national non-profit organization that works to build support for progressive organizations across the country. We run campaigns for the Human Rights Campaign, USPIRG, and Environment America. This summer we will be in over 50 cities, working and lobbying to help win environmental and social justice campaigns.
Currently, we have paid positions open on our campaign staff in each of our locations. We require that interested candidates are hard workers and have excellent communication skills.
As a member of our staff, you will fundraise, build membership for our partner groups, and educate and activate citizens on pressing issues. You will also have the opportunity to organize press conferences and build coalitions with other non-profit organizations. While on staff, you gain knowledge of pressing concerns our country is facing, learn how to effectively generate public support, and obtain a firm understanding of the political process.
We will be holding information sessions and interviews at Texas State University in the Career Services Center, Dine 1 on Monday, 4/9 and Tuesday, 4/10. The HCDRC assists individuals and businesses in determining the most appropriate referral entity available to resolve a problem or dispute. The Marketing Intern Program of San Antonio Magazine is designed to give an overview of the operations of a monthly magazine (circulation: ca. 40,000), with an emphasis on marketing and circulation work as well as the business side of running a city magazine. It is a flexible program that can be adapted to a variety of time formats (from a few hours per week to full-time, with flexible hours during the day) depending on the needs of the intern.
Job Description:
The marketing intern program provides work in all areas related to marketing a monthly, paid circulation magazine. One channel of activities provides project management (or case study) exposure. The basic skills learned in this program are applicable to business in general and marketing in particular.
Responsibilities include:
• Assist with development and distribution of San Antonio Magazine publications and outreach materials.

Texas State Comptroller's Office - Marketing/Outreach Unpaid Internship

LEGISLATIVE INTERN - Capitol and District Offices, District 52
Office of State Representative Diana Maldonado
is seeking applicants interested in participating in a legislative internship. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in gaining substantive policy experience and learning more about the legislative process. There are two locations available for these positions. One is located in downtown Austin at thestate capitol and the other is located at the district office in Round Rock. Please specify which office you are interested in. The positions are unpaid. Interns should have relatively flexible schedules.
Responsibilities:
· Monitor legislation and provide analysis to Rep. Maldonado and staff.
· Represent the office in meetings with stakeholders and constituents.
· Conduct policy analysis.
· Assist in team's effort to maintain constituent services database.
· Assist in researching and responding to correspondence.
· Regularly seek out public policy innovations.
· Assist in administrative duties.
Qualifications:
· Strong research and policy analysis skills.
· Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
· Ability to work in a team structure and manage competing priorities.
· Demonstrated commitment to the values and policy priorities of the legislative team.
